Open Source Advocacy & Public Relations
Throughout my college years between 2022 and 2025, I was an active committee member of Dinus Open Source Community (DOSCOM), one of the longest-running student-led Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) organizations in Central Java.
Working within the public relations division, my primary responsibility was bridging our technical community with external partners. I represented the organization in outreach efforts, negotiated event sponsorships with regional companies, and secured institutional funding and logistics for campus tech meetups, hackathons, and software showcases.
Open Source on the School: React for High Schoolers
Beyond organizational liaison work, I took an active teaching role as a sessional technical instructor. In May 2024, I led the curriculum and live delivery for Open Source on the School (OOTS), an annual community initiative designed to introduce vocational high school (SMK) students to modern web development.
Teaching frontend development to 40 high school students required distilling abstract concepts into tangible mental models. Rather than overwhelming beginners with toolchain configurations (Babel, Webpack, build pipelines), I designed a hands-on curriculum focused on pure React fundamentals: understanding components as reusable Lego blocks, managing UI state with useState, and passing data via props. Guiding students through building their very first interactive web applications demystified modern JavaScript and introduced them to the open-source ethos early in their education.

DOSCOM University: Multi-Week Flutter Track
In March and April 2024, I served on the organizing committee of DOSCOM University, an intensive, month-long community learning program open to college students and external learners across Central Java.
For this cohort, I was tapped to design and instruct the mobile development track using Flutter and Dart. Over four consecutive weeks, I guided participants through Dart language foundations (OOP, futures, type safety), widget-tree architecture, form inputs and navigation routing, and consuming RESTful APIs with JSON serialization.
Peer Pedagogy & Technical Empathy
Serving as both a community organizer and an instructor shaped how I communicate as a software engineer. The hardest part of technical leadership is rarely understanding the syntax yourself; it is articulating complex abstractions with clarity to an audience holding diverse technical backgrounds.
Standing in front of a lecture room troubleshooting unexpected null errors on 40 student laptops taught me the value of clear documentation, defensive code examples, and deep user empathy—skills that directly elevate code reviews and cross-functional team collaboration.
